Position Description:

Sisu Youth provides shelter and care for homeless youth. The Resource Coordinator will have varied tasks to include early morning shifts, support staff, program development and implementation, supervision of clients in the morning, and case management. Employment, compensation, and position continuation are subject to the provisions/continuation of the grant. This position reports directly to the Program Director.

Position Qualifications:

  • Case Management:
  • Create success plans with actionable items with each youth and provide knowledgeable guidance of steps and resources to accomplish goals
  • Help youth with start of day programming and clean space to ensure it’s prepared for tours, guests and service providers during open hours
  • Assist youth in maintaining schedule and completing scheduled activities
  • Help maintain consistency in delivery of service and adherence to program policies
  • Document daily services, maintain client files and goal progression notes
  • Program outreach to include clients, volunteers, and donors
  • Schedule appointments as needed for youth per case management
  • Conduct intakes for incoming clients
  • Take appropriate action with special concerns of clients or volunteers
  • Work with Executive Director and Board to plan for clients and shelter programming
  • Learn and collaborate with systems of care and resources to support case management
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
  • Passion for disadvantaged youth with history of trauma
  • Experience with youth, mental health, social services or program administration preferred
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Must take initiative and be self-driven
  • Must be organized and able to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications and other computer applications
  • Ability to solve problems independently and assist in conflict resolution
  • Willingness to learn systems of care and resources for clients
  • Ability to de-escalate and help clients problem solve

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift items over 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use telephone, PC, copy machine, printer, and other office equipment
  • Ability to drive a car and have clean driving record

Hours and Salary:

Part time - 15-20 hours per week
