The Development Manager is responsible for grant research, applications, proposals and submitting timely reports. The Development Manager is responsible for accurate posting and record maintenance for the various giving programs working with the Accounting Department to ensure that payments are current and correctly classified, as well as, overseeing stewardship efforts. The Development Manager assists with outreach and presentations in the community, as well as coordinating special events and special projects, as assigned. The Development Manager’s portfolio will primarily include foundations, corporations and other granting entities.
Be at least 21 years of age, pass an OSBI criminal background investigation, a drug test and not be listed in any Registry of Sexual Offenders
Must be willing to work flexible hour including occasional evenings and weekends
Possess and produce a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance verification

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with an emphasis on nonprofit management, marketing, public relations and/or communications
Minimum of two years of fundraising, grant research and writing in a nonprofit organization
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals and government regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and maintain accurate statistical data using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher and MS PowerPoint
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from fellow team members, the Board of Trustees and the general public
Extensive writing and proofreading skills
Demonstrate excellent communication, strong interpersonal and project management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet short deadlines and pay attention to detail
Experience with proposal writing
Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies, including but not limited to, the Benevon model of fundraising
Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research
Knowledge of moves management process
Must be able to work independently with little supervision
Demonstrate a high degree of individual initiative and observe high standards of personal and professional integrity
In coordination with VP of Development and Community Engagement, develop, implement and maintain donor stewardship strategy and plan.
Identify funding opportunities that align with organization’s mission, values and philosophy to secure adequate and appropriate resources needed to increase organizational capacity.
Maintain and manage grant database to ensure timely submission of applications and reports.
Coordinate with finance and program staff to gather information necessary to report to funders on current grant programs.
Responsible for completing and submitting all documentation to meet various funders requirements.
Perform donor research and prospecting.
Serve as member of the development and community engagement team and administration team, seek training for areas of required expertise, stay available and prepared to perform other tasks required to keep the team operating at optimal performance level.
Serve as a public speaker for the organization when needed.
Maintain customer/donor confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
Assist the Vice President of Development and Community Engagement with other administrative duties in the department as assigned.
