Position Description:

The Special Events and Development Manager is responsible for all OLFC events: both direct fundraising events and indirect events (annual campaigns/stewardship) events. The position is critical to the success of established events and helps to develop new events. The position works with the OLFC Associate Board (young professionals group) and oversees event committees - motivating and directing staff and volunteers related to all OLFC events, leading the teams to ensure event success. This position plans and manages event expenses, negotiates with vendors, secures event sponsorships, donations and in-kind contributions.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum 3 years successful employment in fundraising or event management.
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.
Must have the ability to take initiative, be self motivated and work independently,
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; with strong proof reading skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced fundraising environment with a commitment to best practices and ethical fundraising.
Must have experience working with AV and AV technology. Video editing experience helpful.
The successful candidate will be creative and have knowledge of national and local trends with special events.
Discrete piercings and body art preferred. Piercings and body art must be capable of being covered by clothing if deemed necessary.

Position Requirements:

Must pass state and national background checks.
Must have demonstrated development planning skills in all five areas of fundraising,
Ability to work within deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), WooFoo WIX, WordPress, Little Green Light (donor management software), social media platforms and willing to learn event fundraising software.
Must have knowledge of basic non-profit tax requirements.
Must be able to work and contribute to a strong team environment as well as work independently.

Position Reports to:
CEO/President

Hours and Salary:
9:00 - 5:30, some evenings and weekends are required. Salary based upon experienced. Performance based bonus. Health and life insurance included.
