Position Description:

Job Title: Men's Outreach Specialist

Under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Program Director, the Outreach Specialist is responsible for conducting HIV/HCV/STI Counseling, Testing, and Referral/Linkage to care (HIV CTR/LTC), prevention strategies, and comprehensive prevention education at the clinic and at community outreach sites focusing on men who have sex with men. The Outreach Specialist will engage clients, through community outreach, at high-risk of HIV/HCV/STI infection, transmission and re-infection into comprehensive prevention education, sexual health counseling and testing services. The Outreach Specialist is responsible for conducting HIV/HCV/STI counseling and is responsible for referral and linkage to care for those who test positive for HIV/HCV/STI. Outreach Specialist is responsible for seeking out and establishing outreach testing sites in communities at increased risk for HIV/HCV/STI transmission. In addition, the Outreach Specialist will act as a liaison to partnering health care and social service agencies as well as to other CBOs, hospitals, and local and state health/social service entities as necessary, and will be a part of any committee or collaboration as requested.

Position Requirements:

At least two years of experience or any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities to perform job duties. GED or High School Diploma required, Bachelor Degree preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required. HIV/AIDS evidence based training required. Capacity to conduct clinic and community outreach targeting high-risk populations. Experience working with diverse populations. Cultural competency required. Knowledge and skills in working in a team environment required. Ability to work with multiple projects required. Detailed oriented required. Fluency in MS Office Suite required. Demonstration of a strong commitment to team work among staff required. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding agency and constituent information required. Valid driver’s license and proof of personal automobile insurance required. Passing a drug test and background check required.

Position Reports to: Program Director & Executive Director

Hours and Salary: Full Time / $30,000 to $35,000
