Position Description:

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration of EIS to ensure the needs of all clients are met in a timely, sensitive and cost-effective manner. The Executive Director develops and executes short-term and long-term goals and objectives in collaboration with the Board of Directors, including fundraising, marketing and outreach. The Executive Director manages the day-to-day operations of the agency, including leading staff members. The Executive Director interacts with donors, strategic partners, staff, volunteers and clients. The Executive Director continuously strives to develop more effective strategies to create impact in the community. It is critical that the Executive Director have a passion for the welfare of infants, children and their families.

  • Leads EIS staff and volunteers in a manner that keeps the organization in line with its Mission and Core Values
  • Manages day-to-day business operations, administrative functions and organizational development
  • Manages and maintains productive and professional relationships with EIS staff members—including, but not limited to, annual reviews, goal-setting and coaching
  • Works strategically with the board to energize, engage and inspire toward the vision of EIS’s strategic future and fulfillment of the mission
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the Tulsa community including donors, volunteers, corporations, foundations, other nonprofits, community-based programs, churches and government agencies
  • Facilitates communications, shares best practices and develops partnerships both internally and externally
  • Promotes our mission and advocates for our clients in the community
  • Plans and executes special event fundraisers in coordination with the board and volunteers
  • Cultivates donor relationships and stewardship
  • Utilizes system for evaluating programs and measuring outcomes

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience
  • Preference given to applicants with previous nonprofit management and knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations
  • Special event planning and fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated financial experience including budget preparation, budget management, oversight of financial reporting and analysis

Position Requirements:

  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and think critically and with foresight
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegation, program development and task facilitation
  • Ability to effectively implement overall strategy of EIS with integrity and compassion
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and public speaking ability
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
  • Oversee and collaborate with staff and volunteers

Position Reports to: Board of Directors

Hours and Salary: Full-time executive level position with salary based on experience and skills
