Hero Highlights: The Inasmuch Foundation Leaves its Mark!
We always joke that heroes don’t always wear capes. This week, we have the privilege of featuring a hero for Oklahoma that has been a steadfast philanthropic partner. They are changing the community not just one donation at a time, but through an incredibly dedicated system of community leadership.
Last week, we gave our annual community partner award to our friends at the Inasmuch Foundation. Thanks to Bob Ross and Sarah Roberts, our nonprofit sector is stronger. It’s innovative. It’s life-changing. And it is certainly life-saving. Over the past ten years, the Foundation has not only fueled the sector with operating grants, they have tackled some of our community’s greatest of issues.
Today, we want to focus on just one of those many innovative investments – ReMerge. Oklahoma has long been known for its highest ranking of systematic incarceration of women. We’ve all been asking the question – how do we change the appalling rates? The Foundation helped plant the seed several years ago to create a diversion program for women, empowering them to focus on housing, substance abuse and mental health treatment, and most importantly, employment.
Today, ReMerge is one of the state’s biggest success stories, and just days ago, they dedicated a new office building to continue providing services to dozens of women each year. Thanks to Inasmuch leaders, ReMerge will continue their life-changing work. ReMerge is just one of many programs supported by the Foundation.
And finally, we want to thank especially Sarah Roberts. Her leadership in philanthropy and on numerous nonprofit boards is transformational. And thank you to Tricia Everest and Bob Ross for their hard work in achieving aspirational goals.
Heroes – doing good. Making lives better. Thank you!
