The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits is in the process of selecting the Honorees for the 2013 Visions event, and we are inviting your nominations for this year's awards. Visions 2012, held last November, honored Pam Newby (Pat Potts Visionary Award), Christy Counts (Visionary Impact Award) and Ron Norick (Lifetime Achievement Award). From its inception in 2011, when the Center honored founder Pat Potts with the first Visions Award, we continue to seek out, identify and honor other visionary leaders of nonprofit organizations in our State.
We need your help. We are asking persons, like you, who have witnessed and worked with visionary leaders, to help us identify nonprofit leaders and visionary innovators, from across Oklahoma, who have identified social issues, found creative solutions and by their passionate, tenacious leadership, have inspired others to join them in developing a plan and a nonprofit organization to bring about positive change. We want to honor the vision, ingenuity and tenacity of these leaders as well as their generosity.
We are asking for nominations from you in four categories: those who through their singular focus, tenacity and leadership have inspired the success of an organization in carrying out its charitable mission (the Pat Potts Visionary Award); those who have dedicated a lifetime of volunteerism and philanthropy to charitable causes and been instrumental in the success of one or more charitable organizations (the Lifetime Achievement Award); those, including (but not exclusive to) relatively young or new volunteers, who have burst on the scene with a dynamic and innovative idea that inspired innovative changes that brought new success to the mission of an organization (the Visionary Impact Award); and a nonprofit employee (executive, program staff or support) that has, for the past year, demonstrated exemplary performance and dedication to the mission of an organization (the Annual Special Recognition Award).
Because of your involvement and knowledge of the nonprofit community, we hope you will talk with others about this search to identify visionary leaders and send us your nominations of the visionaries that are worthy of being honored at the December 3 Visions event. Let's honor the people who are the innovative, visionary champions for positive change in our communities.
We want the nomination process to be as easy as possible for you. You can submit your nomination by email or in writing telling about your nominees using the format suggested in this nomination form. All nominations and your comments will be considered by the Nominations Committee with confidentiality, although we may ask you to allow us to share your views if your nominee is selected to be an Honoree at the Visions Event.
Nomination Process
Time is of the essence. We need your nominations by May 10. Please keep your nominating comments as brief and concise as possible, limiting your nominating statement to one typed page, and avoid excessive attachments, exhibits and other supporting material. We want the whole story, but we can follow up your nomination with a request for more information and contacts to others who may know the persons nominated. We expect more than one nomination for some potential honorees and we know there are more worthy nominees than we can honor at this year's event. We will hold some of the nominees over to another time and you are free to renew your nomination for future events.
Please send completed nominations to (by mail, fax or email):
